Matt Daniels has an Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University and a B.A. in Anthropology and History from the University of Memphis. He worked with the non-profit Serving in Mission in Montevideo, Uruguay from 2001-2005, and subsequently with Communitas International in 2006 launch the Latin America Advancement Team and further develop their work in Uruguay. He also worked as a community activist, founding and developing Serve the City Uruguay before going on to found a leadership training organization, Geronimo Center for Innovation and Leadership, where he and his wife worked with non-profit organizations schools in the country to teach relational leadership skills to management and staff.
He also worked as project head for EcoRise, an ecological, low-cost construction initiative focused on creating economical and ecological housing solutions for under-resourced sectors of society. During this time, he has actively participated in mediating work as well as marital and family disputes, coached community members in conflict resolution, and participated in negotiations in settlements related to construction labor issues.
He has been personally trained by Scott Stanley and Howard Markman in their “Fighting for Your Marriageā approach to conflict and has worked successfully at helping couples and individuals not only resolve conflict, but also develop strategies for protecting themselves and the relationship from those conflicts that are seemingly unsolvable.
Background
When not helping other engage in conflict well, I enjoy hanging out with my family, fostering meaningful connections with friends old and new, walking in nature, pretending to be a folk singer, and practicing mindfulness meditation
