This engaging TAPM Speaker Series is led by speakers Christina McGhee and Kelly Myers from the Co-Parenting Specialist® Training Program! Learn skills that help you shift from solving to supporting – and why it matters more than ever.
As divorce professionals, we’re trained to be top-notch problem solvers—but what happens when knowledge alone isn’t enough? In today’s rapidly changing landscape, engagement is the name of the game. Clients want more than quick fixes and an invoice. They want to feel seen, heard, and valued. In short, they want connection.
This session explores how our own assumptions, judgments, and blind spots can quietly undermine that connection—and what to do instead. You’ll learn how stress impairs decision-making, why traditional methods often fall short, and how powerful questions and validation can help you shift from focusing on the problem to engaging with the person. Walk away with practical tools and insights you can use right away—and a new lens for getting better at what you do.
Pending approval for 1 hour of General CLE and 1 hour of General CME.

About Christina McGhee
Christina McGhee, MSW is an internationally recognized divorce parenting expert, speaker, and author of the critically acclaimed book, PARENTING APART: How Separated and Divorced Parents Can Raise Happy and Secure Kids and founder of divorceandchildren.com. Christina adamantly believes divorce doesn’t have to equal devastation for families. While it is undeniably hard, with the right kind of information and support, she feels parents have the ability to be a child’s absolute best resource when families change.
Currently, she maintains a select coaching practice that allows her to work with parents all over the world. Additionally, Christina has leveraged her broad range of experience to create the unique multidisciplinary Co-Parenting SpecialistTM Training Program. It teaches divorce professionals how to keep kids in the center, not the middle when parents part.
Christina also serves as the Education and Training Director for the SPLIT Outreach Project, a non-profit organization that produced the groundbreaking documentaries SPLIT: The EARLY Years and SPLIT UP: The TEEN Years. Whether she is training, coaching, or creating programs, Christina’s passion for disrupting the status quo, changing divorce for the better, and keeping the focus where it belongs… on kids, remains constant.
Christina and her husband live outside of Houston, Texas, and are the proud parents of four “adultish” children (two bonus, two bio.)When she’s not busy restoring order to the universe, Christina spends her time taking in sunsets, searching for the perfect cup of coffee, and ordering more books than she can possibly read.
