Jackie Dixon grew up in East Tennessee. She graduated from Carson-Newman University and earned her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Dixon practices law in Nashville and middle Tennessee from her office at Lewis Thomason, P. C., in downtown Nashville. She enjoys helping people through difficult times and practices in the areas of family law, probate, personal injury, and general civil litigation. She is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 listed family mediator. She is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated lawyer. She has been honored to be selected “Best of the Bar” in family law by the Nashville Business Journal three times, most recently in 2021. She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Tennessee and before the United States Supreme Court.
Dixon loves being a lawyer and has been honored to serve in leadership roles in several bar associations including as President of the Tennessee Bar Association, the TBA-YLD, Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the Lawyers’ Association for Women (Nashville), and the Tennessee Lawyers’ Association for Women.
Dixon is a member of the Tennessee Supreme Court Lawyer’s Assistance Program Commission (TLAP) and currently serves as vice-president and as a peer monitor.
Dixon is a member of the American Bar Association and currently represents the TBA in the ABA House of Delegates. She is a fellow of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Foundations, and currently serves on the Tennessee Bar Foundation board as treasurer. Dixon is a Master emeritus member of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court. She is a member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers and the American Association for Justice.
Dixon is a founding board member and immediate past president of A Step Ahead Foundation of Middle Tennessee. A Step Ahead provides education, outreach, and free, long-acting reversible birth control.
Dixon lives with her husband, two nieces, two dogs and a cat in Nashville. She is an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Dixon was trained as a mediator in late 2002, and has been continuously listed as a Tennessee Supreme Court Family Law Mediator since 2003. Every two years, she takes the required training to maintain her mediator status. She also attends multiple continuing legal education programs each year to stay up to date in her areas of practice.
